About Herne Bay
Herne Bay is a Victorian seaside town, a few miles along the coast from Whitstable and seven miles from the cathedral city of Canterbury. London is accessible both by rail from the local station (journey time approx. 1hr 25 mins) and coach, and is a 1hr 30m drive to Waterloo; and day trips to France are possible, via Dover.
It has a host of facilities for visitors to enjoy and is popular for a range of water sports, including angling, windsurfing, pleasure boat trips and even seal watching. The town has a selection of pubs and restaurants, a cinema, sports centre, swimming pool and tennis courts, plus a Saturday market, promenade, seafront gardens, a few traditional seaside amusements and a popular summer festival each August.
The seaside cottages are in a relaxing and peaceful location, on the shoreline, within an easy 10-15 minute walk of the town centre.

This semi-detached seafront cottage looks straight out to sea from across the path and shingle beach. Of considerable character and stylishly furnished and well equipped, this extensively renovated single story holiday house has direct access to the beach, is approached by a flight of steps and has polished wood floors and attractive rugs throughout. The property has one double bedroom, a bathroom with shower above the bath and a separate w.c. An attractive fitted kitchen includes a cooker, fridge, microwave and washer/dryer, and it is adjacent to a spacious dining room. The sitting room with wood burning stove offers uninterrupted views of shore and sea; double folding doors lead to an additional sitting room with a comfortable single futon and from which french doors lead to a glazed veranda with superb sea views.
There is a sunny rear patio and a steeply sloping grassed garden with garden furniture. TV, video, gas central heating plus a wood burning stove, pay phone. WiFi internet access (no extra charge). Parking is available at the front of the property, or on the road above the house or in the car park at the end of the path. Extra charges apply for electricity/gas, £10 per week June & September, £15 per week May & October, £25 per week November to April. Small pet by arrangement £15 per week. Bed linen@£10 extra.
